Imagine this: you are running a race, and you are killing it, making good time and feeling
energetic and strong. Suddenly you fall and the other racers pass you by. As they pass you, you
begin to feel the impact of the fall in your mind and body, negative thoughts are flooding your
mind and eroding your confidence in your ability. You know you need help, you cry out for help,
but the other runners keep going. You try to pull yourself up from the ground, but your body is
not cooperating. As the feeling of defeat sets in, you stop crying out for help and stay on the
ground. At that moment, another runner stops and inquiries about what happened and how she
can help you get to the finish line. The runner helps you up, and together you cross the finish
line. As you cross the finish line, you receive a clean, cold glass of water and you realize that the
other runner’s help was necessary to get you through the race and your perspective about the fall
begins to shift.

I believe this reflects the therapeutic relationship: supporting clients through life challenges so
they feel empowered and understood. My theoretical approach is client-centered, evidence-based
approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Care. I aim to create a
culturally competent safe space where teens, men, couples, burned out church leaders, and those
dealing with religious trauma feel empowered to share their stories. I am committed to active
listening, confidentiality, continuous learning, and collaboration to provide high-quality care. My
goal is to help clients build coping skills, grow in confidence, and achieve personal milestones.
We are all running the race that life has given to us, we have the choice to go fast and alone, or
we can go far and go together, through the therapeutic relationship, let us go far together.
