Essica Pullam, LPC, CCTP I, is a Licensed Professional Counselor at the Kenyatta Black Counseling in Arlington, Texas, where she provides individual, couples, and family counseling to clients aged 12 and older.

Essica specializes in helping individuals navigate grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. She is dedicated to supporting families facing challenges with blending households or overcoming conflict, tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the diverse needs of her clients.

With over 20 years of experience in counseling and education, Essica holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Amberton University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas. Her professional certifications include Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP I), and Certified Nova Crisis Counselor.

Essica’s counseling style integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. Recognized for her commitment to education and mental health, Essica received the Community Impact Award in 2024 and was named Teacher of the Year in 2011.

In addition to her work at Kenyatta Black Counseling, Essica owns As I Am Counseling, LLC, and is a contracted counselor supervisor at Southern Trinity Therapeutic Solutions. She also works with V-Counselors, providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Previously, she served as a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Counselor and Middle School Counselor in the Duncanville Independent School District.
