Kenyatta Black, Licensed Professional Counselor, Founder and Supervisor
Kenyatta Black is a wife and proud mother of two young children and understands the difficulties of trying to balance career and family issues. Her clients say she is down-to-earth and easy to talk to. Kenyatta believes we all have the answers to our questions deep inside of us and her role in the therapeutic process is to ask powerful and effective questions to help you reach those answers.
Kenyatta treats teenagers, adults, and families dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, and parenting issues. Kenyatta offers individualized supervision for LPC Interns. While working on a trauma unit at mental health hospital, Kenyatta gained extensive training helping victims of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse work through their trauma and begin the process of healing.
Kenyatta is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Texas and holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. Kenyatta spent eight years working for a global telecommunications company where she was promoted to a management position. Kenyatta found her passion in the mental health field and is able to combine her business experience with her clinical training to help her clients identify and achieve their goals. Kenyatta’s theoretical approach is eclectic, meaning she incorporates different styles such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems.
Kenyatta is certified in Trauma Model Therapy and is a proud member of the Texas Counseling Association.
